First round of Bristol Redistro is open!

We are now open for applications! Do you know of any community groups led by people facing discrimination who need funding for their projects? If so, please help us spread the word.

Bristol Redistro’s core aim is to challenge the unfair power structures that cause inequality and injustice, and to create positive alternatives. To do this we are raising money to support the struggles, fights, campaigns and projects of groups and communities facing discrimination (due to their class, ability, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexuality, age, immigration status or other factors) who are therefore most affected by these power structures.

We not only aim to redistribute money, but also power. People who have money to give away get to choose which causes are important and which deserve their money. This gives them a lot of power. We want to take the decision-making power away from those with money by letting the groups that have applied for the money decide themselves how it is shared out. By bringing groups together we also hope to give people working on different issues the opportunity to make new contacts and learn from each other.

You can find out more about us, our funding criteria, how to apply and how we approach funding differently on the following pages:

We have raised enough to invite applications but we would like to raise more, if you're able to donate, please get in touch. This is also a pilot project and we welcome people's feedback, ideas and involvement.
